Raymond Balise, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics in the Miller School of Medicine’s Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami (UM). Prior to joining UM, he worked at Stanford University School of Medicine for 17 years as a Biostatistician and Senior Lecturer, as well as serving as the Biostatistics Programmer Coordinator and Project Director for the Statistical Programming Group, Spectrum. He is an award-winning lecturer who has developed and taught classes such as Data Management and Statistical Programming, Survey of Statistical Computing, Medical Biostatistics, Case Studies in Biostatistics, and Data Science and Machine Learning. He is the coauthor of a book, Presenting Medical Statistics from Proposal to Publication, covering analysis and data visualization. In addition, he has authored and coauthored more than a hundred peer-reviewed publications and refereed presentations in topics ranging from phonetics to obstetrics, dyspepsia to dyslexia, and health disparity to brachytherapy. His recent work includes the development and patenting of the analytics behind SCAN360, a web portal that describes cancer rates and disease risk factors for all of Florida. Currently, he is developing tools to monitor rates of substance use disorder for 16 communities in New York and using machine learning methods to model patterns of substance abuse in people seeking care for addiction to opioids. Additionally, he is working on several projects at the intersection of mental health and HIV.
Rev. Prof. Gabriel J. Odom, PhD, ThD is an assistant professor of biostatistics at Florida International University and voluntary faculty at the University of Miami. He develops open-source software to apply statistics and bioinformatics methods to cancer and substance use disorder research.

Principal Programmer/Analyst for the Advanced Biomedical IT Core, a part of the Pervasive Technology Institute at Indiana University. Luis Felipe Reyes is a Critical Care physician with a Ph.D. in Translational Science from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Reyes is an internationally recognized expert in pneumonia, invasive pneumococcal disease, sepsis, and antibiotic resistance.
Dr. Reyes is part of the organizing committee of the Global Initiative for MRSA pneumonia (GLIMP), the Latin America Intensive Care Network (LIVEN) and the RemapCAP study. Dr. Reyes is the national researcher for several Multinational Research Projects in patients with COVID-19, including studies carried out by the WHO, ISARIC, and ESICM. Moreover, Dr. Reyes is the Co-Chair of the ISARIC COVID-19 Critical Care analysis group. Additionally, he is an Associate Editor for the BMC Pulmonary Medicine and Junior Editor of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Reyes is currently the head of the Department of infectious diseases and associate professor at the University of La Sabana, School of Medicine. Finally, he is the intensive care unit’s academic director at the Clinic of the Universidad de La Sabana and director of the research group: Translational Science in Infectious Diseases and Critical Care Medicine of the same University.

REDCap: Supporting Colorado Institutions in a time of COVID-19 pandemic
Jenn Mauck joined the Informatics Core of University of Colorado’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) in September 2020 as a REDCap Administrator. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Public Health from Florida State University. Prior to this new role, she worked as a clinical research coordinator and REDCap Administrator for Florida State University College of Medicine’s Network for Clinical Research and Training. She has experience in the implementation and facilitation of research projects in community based healthcare settings and has previously worked in the non-profit field overseeing health promotion and policy initiatives. She is looking forward to moving to Colorado as a new resident in 2021 and becoming involved in the REDCap Consortium with CCTSI’s REDCap team lead Amanda Miller.

Bas de Veer MS is the Data Services Manager for the Research IT group at the University of Washington Medical Center. He helps researchers find a practical solution for their research informatics needs. Before being promoted to his current position he was the main REDCap administrator for the UW-ITHS REDCap instance. Bas holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Medical Informatics from the University of Amsterdam and specializes in being a translator between the clinical world and IT world.

Leila has a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Chris Kadolph has been a part of the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute since 2012. He is currently a Software Development Team Lead that oversees all aspects of development which span across administrative and grant-funded projects. Chris has been heavily involved in all things REDCap since 2015, focused primarily on custom development that operationalized REDCap for study/participant management. Recent efforts include COVID-related dashboards and optimizations specifically tailored to support our staff’s efforts during this pandemic.
